Let us rejoice, and be glad in it. Don’t forget to thank God every day for all of His many blessings. As a friend of mine recently put it on Facebook, what would you do if you woke up tomorrow and the only things that were there were the things you thanked God for today?
Sorry for the lack of posts over the past few months, but work and school have been keeping me busy pretty much all the time.

I don’t mean to go on a rant, but I think it’s ridiculous everyone running around worried about the end of the world being May 21, 2011. The Bible clearly tells us in Matthew 24:36 – But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Get off your high horses, people. Do you honestly think you know more than the Son of God and the angels in Heaven? It is far better to live each day as if it were the last, rather than to worry about the date itself. Watch and pray, friends. Watch and pray.

Hebrews 11:1 says: “Now faith is the substance of all things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
What does that mean exactly? I’d like to begin by telling you about something that happened a couple of weeks ago that made me smile.
My 3 year old son, Mayan had lost his favorite bouncy ball (“kooky” balls he calls them, for some reason) in the dark recesses under the stove. “Daddy, get the broom, please. I need my kooky ball.”
I retrieved the broom from the closet and clumsily set about using the handle to rescue my son’s prized treasure. After a couple of attempts, I was only able to lodge the ball firmly between the leg of the stove and the neighboring cabinet. “I don’t think I’m going to be able to get your kooky ball”, I informed my anxiously waiting toddler.
Then I waited for the wailing to commence. Much to my surprise, he didn’t even bat an eye. He just looked at me–almost reassuringly–and said, “I know you can do it, Daddy. Get my kooky ball, please.”
After another attempt, I was able to successfully dislodge his bouncy ball from the stove’s clutches. He thanked me ecstatically, and carried on about his play.
It left me thinking, though. My son really has faith in me. He knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Daddy could retrieve his ball for him. He had unwavering faith. Many of the best lessons, we do indeed learn from our children.

Sorry guys. I have been busy, busy, busy… I haven’t had a chance to update the site in a while, because I’ve been working on several others. I recently completed a website for Boiling Springs Missionary Baptist Church of Boiling Springs, NC. I would encourage everyone to take a look at their new website, and if you don’t have a church home, give them a visit. I recently attended a service there, and it was truly a blessed experience. What a wonderful church family! I have of course been studying my Bible, and have much planned to share with you. I will have more to upload in a day or two when I can get the thoughts translated from my mind to my keyboard.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Have you ever wanted to pray, but didn’t know what exactly to pray for? This is not uncommon, and there are many reasons that it happens. Sometimes we are emotionally distressed and not thinking clearly. We know that we need God’s help, but we don’t know what to ask, or can’t put the words together. The book of Romans tells us what happens in this situation:
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
[27] And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is in the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Now, the title of this article may be a little misleading, because the Spirit doesn’t only intercede for us in prayer when we don’t know what to ask for. The Holy Spirit intercedes with us every time we pray, because we don’t know what to ask the Father that is in accordance with His will. Even if we did, God does not hear the sinners. As we know, we are all sinners, and we have all fallen short of God’s glory.
Therefore we should be ever-thankful for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Because it is His spirit which resides in us (our body being the temple of the Spirit), that enables us to communicate with God. Consider John 9:31: Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
